If we can raise $10,000 from Braintree residents for our 2014 holiday campaign, former Braintree resident William Crispin has offered to make a matching $10,000 donation to Braintree Holidays/Friends Inc., a private non-profit that operates the Marge Crispin Center and distributes food, toys, clothing and decorations to families at Christmas. The Internal Revenue Service has determined that Braintree Holidays/Friends, Inc. is a 501 (c) (3) organization and has further classified Braintree Holidays as a 509 (a) (1) private non-profit organization that is supported primarily by donations. Any donations made to Braintree Holidays/Friends, Inc. are tax-deductible.
We depend primarily on an annual letter campaign and various other fundraising events to support the Food Pantry and Holiday Basket Programs.
The Social Day Care program is funded via donations and fees paid for services. We currently have a contract with South Shore Elder Services to provide services. We have also received supplemental funding for Weymouth residents through the Community Development Block Grant Program.
Grant writing is an integral part of our funding requests.
